USMC Sergeant Kirstie Ennis
As an aerial gunner in a CH-53, Kirstie Ennis survived a helicopter crash in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan in 2012, suffering a damaged left leg, a
torn rotator cuff and labrum, injured cervical discs in her spine, a shattered jaw, severe facial lacerations, a traumatic brain injury and PTSD. After enduring more than 40 surgeries, her left leg was amputated in 2015.
After her recovery, Kirstie became dedicated to exceeding expectations. She has earned three Master’s Degrees, become a top-tanked Paralympic snowboarder,
and is on a mission to climb the world’s “Seven Summits.”
